Who Says We Can't Collaborate

On April 9, 2017, a light bulb went off in my head. A challenge is what came to mind. Not any of the challenges you see all over the internet. This challenge involved myself(the poet) and an artist(Fausto Manuel Ramos) out of Bronx, N.Y. I admired his artwork(paintings) that have been posted on his Instagram page(@fausto_of_lostbreedculture) for a while. On that particular day, I decided to be brave. I sent him a message on Instagram asking him if he would accept my challenge. Where he would choose one of my poems and turn it into a masterpiece. As you can see from the picture above, he accepted my challenge!!! Isn't it so beautiful?! That is what he saw from my poem: Vision of Self. The best part about this is he mailed it to me. I LOVE IT!!
Feel free to email him: FMR718@gmail.com or @ him on Instagram @fausto_of_lostbreedculture

Thank you so much, Fausto, for accepting my challenge!

A second opportunity came around in October 2017. Ms. Lynette Reed accepted my poem submission. She then turned my poem: In Silence, She Sits into the masterpiece you see below. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person. The masterpiece and my poem were both displayed in Liberty Town Arts Workshop (art gallery) for the whole month of October. The beauty of this event is that there were 17 other original poems and art that were displayed as well.
A big thank you to my good friend Nina for telling me to submit one of my poems. Thank you, Ms. Reed, for your masterpiece inspired by my poem.
I will cherish these experiences for the rest of my life.
