Today, I Am Not Thankful

Today, I am not thankful.

I am not thankful to see too many people that are disabled from utilizing their 5 senses the way I can.

I am not thankful for witnessing so many people go down with diseases that I have dodged thus far.

I am not thankful for absorbing the invisible pain others hold in, when I do not personally experience the pain myself.

I am not thankful for the homeless people that lay infront of me on my way to work.

I am not thankful for the unhealthy children, when mine are imperfectly healthy.

How hypocritical of me?!?!

The list above has shown me how truly unthankful I am. You see. It is only because of those conditions, I've been thankful for what I have. As if I am better in any way. As if the ones suffering are under me.

Today, I am thankful for seeing past what is infront of me. Reflecting only on myself. I am not comparing my life with others in order to be thankful for what I have or what I often take advantage of.
