The Random W/Javaris: #BanBossy With The Girl Scouts

When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead.

We live in a society where people think it's okay to keep women down. We live in a world that tells women, that they shouldn't make more money than a man. They even go as far to say they better not dare make more than they husband. Why is this okay? Why is this world telling women that it's okay to not want to lead? Why is it that it's only 22 women that are CEO's of Fortune 500's? The world is scaring women into what they want them to be. That stops today. That stops with us. #BanBossy
