Today, let us speak up about: FINANCES/BACK TO BASICS
1. Home
A. Unplug anything that is not being used.
· Appliances
· Cell phone chargers
· Any hot tool used for the hair
· Night lights
· Any electronics
B. Laundry
· If possible, wash clothes one or two days a week (instead of everyday).
· Spend a little more money on a detergent that can clean clothes under cold water.
C. Energy
· Make sure to turn ac/heat off before heading out of the door.
· Seal every door/window to keep air from coming into the home. That helps the ac/heat from overworking to do its job.
· Purchase a charger for the batteries. Saves you from constantly buying batteries so often.
· Avoid opening the refrigerator too much.
· Turn lights off in areas you’re not in.
D. Groceries
· Pack your lunch for work/school everyday rather than buy lunch.
· Cook a meal enough to last two days.
· Buy in bulks, if possible. Might be a little pricy, but lasts a lot longer.
· Make a list before going grocery shopping. That saves you from buying random/unnecessary items.
E. Money
· Purchase a little notebook/or use online tracking and keep record of monthly bills.
· Coins still have value. Save every penny, they add up.
· Coupons are a plus.
· During tax time, put aside a good amount to use as a “bank loan” to yourself when needed.
· Research companies and invest.
· If you do not have double or triple the amount of a certain product, do not purchase.
· Emergency money is very important. So many unexpected things happen.
