Speak Up/ DISTRACTIONS!

Speaking Up
Today, let us speak up about: DISTRACTIONS!
1.        Home
A.       Family is very important.
B.       Home is your sanctuary (if you will); do not allow negative energy to enter it.
C.      Once leaving your home, you are to leave personal issues there as well.
D.      Do not carry the weight of home to work, school, or even in your thoughts for the rest of the day.  It creates a sense of distraction, negative energy, depression, etc…
2.        School
A.       Class work, class mates, teachers can be very overwhelming when trying to figure yourself out in the process.
B.       Education is important. Make sure you ask every question you may have in order to assist you with comprehending what is being taught.
C.      Class work- Take notes and research. Do not wait until the last minute to finish homework or projects.
D.      Classmates- Do not limit yourself to one group of people. Branch out with an open mind. Keep in mind you will see your classmates nearly 8 hours of the day. That’s a good chunk.
E.       Teachers- If you do not comprehend the teacher’s method of teaching, make sure to ask or speak to the teacher. Do not go through the school year stressed out and possibly fail, because you didn’t voice your concerns.
3.        Work
A.       Work is important. It is what takes care of your finances.
B.       Coworkers- Do not side with certain ones. Stay in your area and work. It becomes a headache when you get involved with gossip.
C.      Do not bring your home problems to work. That distraction will interfere with your work performance overall.
4.        Relationships
A.       Do not share personal problems about your relationship with other people. Especially the ones closest to you.
B.       If there is any abuse involved: contact professionals as soon as possible.
C.      Keep an open line of communication.
D.      If you are not bringing the best out of each other, then it’s time to leave.
E.       Pain of a break up can weigh on a person sometimes. Find ways to get out of that funk (bake a cake, go to the gym, write in a journal, go to a park), because that becomes a distraction.
5.        Technology
A.       Technology makes our lives easier and also makes it harder at the same time.
B.       Easier, in a sense of luxuries. Washer/Dryer, Internet, cell phones, GPS’s, refrigerators, epidurals, over the counter medicines, all of the different types of transportation, shopping online, gives the brain less work to do, etc…
C.      Harder, in a sense of side effects coming with the luxuries. Laziness at its prime, distractions from nature and our surroundings, we become robot-like, the brain isn’t exercised very often, etc.
D.      Media teaches children what “family” should look like! Such a disgrace.
**Please take matters in your own hands. If we did not have technology, how would we survive? Make sure to learn a little bit of everything.
